Cognizance announce new album ‘In Light, No Shape’

COGNIZANCE have announced a brand new album!

The Leeds‑based progressive death metal quartet have announced their upcoming new album, In Light, No Shape. Serving as the follow-up to 2024’s Phantazein, In Light, No Shape will be released on May 1st via Willowtip Records.

The album also marks a major lineup change for the first time in a decade, with founding guitarist Alex Baillie assuming vocal duties following the 2023 departure of founding vocalist Henry ‘Big Mac’ Pryce.

Speaking about the new chapter, guitarist/vocalist Alex Baillie states, “this record is a defining milestone for us. Taking on vocals has pushed us to re-engineer how we experiment with the blend of elements in our sound, unlocking new creative pathways to compliment the core identity of the band. What you will hear are four dudes all adding their flavours to the melting pot to create a body of work that felt completely natural to us.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, COGNIZANCE have released the first single Witness Marks, accompanied by an official music video.
