Citizen announce new album ‘Halcyon Blues’
CITIZEN have announced a brand new album!
The Ohio-based rock band have announced a new album titled Halcyon Blues, set for release on August 7th via Run For Cover Records. The album is the follow-up to 2023’s Calling The Dogs and sees the band drawing together elements from across their catalogue into a cohesive full-length statement. Spanning 11 tracks, Halcyon Blues was recorded by vocalist Mat Kerekes and mixed by Tom Lord-Alge.
Alongside the album announcement, CITIZEN have released the lead single Highs And Lows, which arrives with an official music video. The track is described as a central moment on the record, showcasing the band’s continued evolution while retaining their core sound. Speaking about the band’s long-term approach, guitarist Nick Hamm shares, “a lot of bands try to do anything they can to be the hottest thing of the moment and we’ve just never operated like that. We don’t think in moments, or months, or record cycles. Some bands end up getting sick of whatever walls they exist in, but I see CITIZEN as this long term creative project where there’s always somewhere new to go.”
