Russian Circles announce new album ‘Nine’
RUSSIAN CIRCLES have announced a brand new album!
Titled Nine, the upcoming release from the Chicago-based post-metal trio is set for release on August 28th via Sargent House. The record follows 2022’s Gnosis, and continues the band’s steady evolution, refining their expansive instrumental sound while pushing further into new sonic territory shaped by decades of experimentation and influence.
The new album was once again created with producer Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE, MASTODON, HIGH ON FIRE), with tracking taking place at Electrical Audio in Chicago before being completed at GodCity Studio. Continuing their established working relationship, the production captures both the weight and clarity that has defined the band’s modern era.
Speaking about the album, the band shares, “the music we make is a collective process of reconciliation, navigation, and reflection upon ageing both as individuals and as a creative entity. Life has created very real distances between us, but the band continues to be at the centre, and this creative collaboration is a way of charting the passage of time while also giving us a reason to look to the future.”
Alongside the announcement, the band have released the album’s first single, Empath.
