Ihsahn release new music video for A-Ha cover ‘Manhattan Skyline’

IHSAHN has released a new music video!

The new music video, for a cover of A-HA‘s Manhattan Skyline, is taken from the acclaimed Norwegian musician’s upcoming new EP Pharos which is scheduled to be released in September. The cover features a guest appearance from LEPROUS‘ Einar Solberg.

Directed and filmed by Troll Toftenes, the video sees IHSAHN at his most passionate and embracing. With the breathtaking landscape of Norway as the backdrop, he plays his Aristides T/0 Lilac Pearl Satin guitar atop Gaustatoppen, the highest mountain in Norway, at sunset whilst Einar Solberg‘s earnest and emotional vocals soar.

Speaking about the new cover, the man himself says, “there are some hints of A-HA even on the second EMPEROR album! I never wanted to be as one-dimensional as this black metal image. When I turned 40, I stopped caring but if you start out playing black metal when you’re 16, it’s hardly because you want to be everybody’s favourite.”
