Download Festival announce 14 new bands
14 new bands have been announced for this year’s Download Festival!
After announcing the likes of A DAY TO REMEMBER, BURY TOMORROW, CODE ORANGE, MASTODON, MALEVOLENCE, CREEPER and more back in September, now, another 14 bands have been announced for the UK’s biggest rock and metal festival!
Leading the charge in the latest announcement is SKINDRED, YONAKA, HERIOT, ORBIT CULTURE and RED FANG who will all perform across the festival weekend. Also confirmed is BIMINI, DANA DENTATA, KID BRUNSWICK, BANKS ARCADE, SKYND, DIRTY HONETY, THE VELVETEERS, WILL HAVEN and, albeit very controversially, ALESTORM.
Speaking about performing at this year’s festival, SKINDRED frontman Benji Webbe says, “playing the Download Pilot after being locked down for a year and a half was an amazing experience so being invited back to our favourite festival and spiritual home to play alongside the likes of KISS and Maiden is a dream come true. Plus we have some amazing rockin’ new tunes which we cannot wait for you all to hear.”
YONAKA frontwoman Theresa Jarvis adds, “aghhhh Download! Some of us have been going since we were 14 so it’s an absolute pleasure to be performing there again. The energy is always amazing and such an exciting lineup of music.”
Download Festival takes place at Donington Park, Castle Donington from June 10th-12th 2022. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
