Flogging Molly announce new album ‘Anthem’

FLOGGING MOLLY have announced a new album!

Titled Anthem, the upcoming album from the iconic Celtic punk band is the long-awaited follow-up to 2017’s Speed Of Darkness, and is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Rise Records.

“With this record we went back to the basics in a way that I don’t think we could have done if we hadn’t been playing together for over 20 years,” says singer/guitar player Dave King about the upcoming album. “I think going back to Chicago and doing this record with Steve made the experience so fun and I really believe you can hear that on the record. For FLOGGING MOLLY, getting together and playing new songs is always the goal – and now we’re just getting excited to start playing these songs live and giving our fans a whole new era of FLOGGING MOLLY.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; The Croppy Boy ’98. The new song is the second single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from These Times Have Got Me Drinking, which was released back in March. Talking about the single, King describes it as “a foot stomping, rollicking ode to traditional Irish music.”
