Slam Dunk Festival reveals acoustic stage, Uprawr stage & more!
Slam Dunk Festival have announced two new stages and more even more acts!
Topping the latest announcement is the return of the Acoustic/Solo Stage, which this year is set to be headlined by Bryce Avary from THE ROCKET SUMMER. Other revealed acts include ROB LYNCH, GRUMBLE BEE, GREYWIND, AWAY DAYS, ELDER BROTHER, and YouTube sensations SEAFOAL, BETHAN LEADLEY, & LIANNE KAYE.
Elsewhere, Birmingham based club brand, UPRAWR have revealed the full lineup for their stage. Although Slam Dunk regulars BURY TOMORROW will not be playing a full band set, brothers Dani & Davyd Winter-Bates have been announced playing a DJ set “After playing Slam Dunk so many times it almost feels like summer is not the same without us being there. “ says singer Dani. “So obviously we couldn’t play this year but myself and Dav have been known for our crazy DJ sets and Slam Dunk along with Uprawr decided to get us involved. We love getting everyone pumped and in the party vibe so you can expect an absolutely insane DJ set !! We cannot wait! “
Others acts added to the dance inspired stage include MEL CLARKE and PARTY BLINDERS – a new act made up of DJ Andy Shaw, producer Tommy Conflict and MC Jon Mahon, formerly of Kerrang & Team Rock Radio. UPRAWR RESIDENT DJs will complete the lineup which also features previously announced headliners SHIKARI SOUND SYSTEM DJ SET, and live acts ASTROID BOYS and THE QEMISTS.
Finally, in keeping with the event’s history, Slam Dunk have revealed the booking of one of the acts that originally inspired the ska-punk movement, THE BEAT. Also revealed were THE JB CONSPIRACY, who last played the event in 2008.
Slam Dunk Festival 2016 will take place on the following dates:
Saturday 28 May 2016: Slam Dunk Festival North – Leeds City Centre
Sunday 29 May 2016: Slam Dunk Festival Midlands –Birmingham, NEC
Bank Holiday Monday 30 May 2016: Slam Dunk Festival South – Hatfield, University of Hertfordshire
Tickets are on sale now and priced at £42 or £47 with afterparty (18+ only). Also available for 2016 is a limited edition ‘Mega Ticket’ for £150. This ticket includes admittance to all 3 events and includes afterparties, wristband exchange queue jumps and a limited edition t-shirt.
