Týr announce new album ‘Hel’

TÝR have announced a new album!

Titled Hel, the upcoming album is the eight effort from the Faroe Islands’ metallers and is scheduled to be released in March this year.

The upcoming album marks the end of a six year wait since their last release, 2013’s Valkyrja, and will also mark the recording debut of drummer Tadeusz Rieckmann, who has manned the drum throne for the band’s live shows since 2016.

Speaking about the upcoming record, guitarist/vocalist Heri Joensen says, “we approached this one differently because I learned that if I continue doing albums in the way we had up to now, I would die from a heart attack before I’m 50! That’s one of the reasons we changed our method and took such a long time on this one.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have launched the first single from the upcoming record; titled Fire and Flame.

Continuing to speak about the album, bassist/vocalist Gunnar Thomsen says, “musically it leans a bit towards our album, Ragnarok. It’s a bit more epic and also much better worked through than any of our previous albums.”
