ALBUM REVIEW: Influence Denied – Eradicator

German thrashers ERADICATOR are one of those bands that have quietly gone about their business, kind of flying under the radar in most respects, when in fact they should be regarded for their levels of consistency and technical capability. Their fifth full-length release, Influence Denied, is due for release on July 23rd via Metalville, and the quartet are hoping that this will be able to increase their foothold in the hotly contested genre.

Driven By Illusion gets stuck right into the action with galloping drum beats and swift riffing. This is by no means your ‘run-of-the-mill’ thrash arrangement, there are lots of slick transitions and impressive lead elements to heighten your intrigue. A very promising start. Hate Preach keeps the tempo simmering with further surges of energy. Enticing guitar hooks and rapid fire drumming provide a lethal one-two combination. Echo Chamber throws some tasty bass licks into the mix alongside the lively shredding that is also sprinkled with alluring melodies and meticulous solo runs.

Influence Denied shows no signs of running out of steam as it confidently charges onwards, switching it up at a moment’s notice to keep things interesting and refreshing. 5-0-1 maintains the speed driven mentality with intricate riff work and punchy melodies that are razor sharp in execution. ERADICATOR are certainly not afraid of cramming this release with copious guitar solos. Jackals To Chains ups the technicality and the tempo, firing riffs out at a relentless pace. The grooves are particularly addictive on this track, before you know it your head will be banging along. Mondays For Murder matches the blistering pace as well as offering up yet another ear worm of a verse segment. You’ll be humming this one for quite some time!

Hypocrite takes a grittier, darker approach which makes the shredding sound even more fierce. The frenzied drumming also assists in ramping up the intensity levels. The latter stages of this track are absolutely anthemic and would be the perfect recipe for inciting a wild pit or two. Descent Into Darkness is also quite devilish in its design. A confident stride and commanding vocal lines keep you engaged. Anthropocene intends to go out on a high with a string of tapping licks to kick the track off in style, charging towards the finish line like a speeding bullet with a mixture of divebombs, mind melting guitar work and rapid fire drum beats.

Influence Denied refuses to depart before every drop of blood, sweat and tears is poured into its veins. ERADICATOR deserve to be a name on everyone’s lips after this release, unlike some albums which kind of run out of ideas, the tracks gather a formidable momentum and continue to get better and better as the album progresses. It would be no surprise to see their fan base rise considerably as a result and rightfully so.
