Crime In Stereo announce new album ‘House & Trance’

CRIME IN STEREO have announced a new album!

Titled House & Trance, the upcoming album from the Long Island hardcore band is the long-awaited follow-up to 2010’s I Was Trying To Describe You To Someone, and is scheduled to be released in October this year, via Pure Noise Records.

The upcoming album intends to offer a scathing indictment on the state of the union, it wasn’t actually intended to be overtly political. That’s just what it became as an accurate reflection of the times and what the powers that be are doing. “It’s so exhausting being a reasonable human being in 2023 in the United States of America. It’s exhausting looking around and being like, ‘What’s the fucking matter with you people?’” says vocalist Kristian Hallbert. “I’m not taking ludicrous positions on extreme political outlooks. It’s just like, ‘Hey, can you stop tearing those babies away from their parents and putting them in cages?’ Is that an outlandish position to take? Can people have healthcare? Can people not get shot in school or in church or at the goddamn mall or in a movie theater? But you say things like that and then other people are like, ‘Oh, you’re taking a political position.’ It’s so fucking insulting on a human level.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, CRIME IN STEREO have released new music videos for two new singles from the upcoming album; Hypernormalisation and Books Cannot Be Killed By Fire.

Speaking about the Hypernormalisation, the band says, “the wildfires gathered themselves together, advancing enough petition signatures to force a vote on rerouting subterranean magma ducts directly into any east/west commuter corridors. Cities of water rushed in from the sea only to circle the neighbourhood for hours, stymied by alternate side parking.”
