PREMIERE: Marigold Moon – Cheap Meat

We here at Distorted Sound are delighted to premiere the new song from CHEAP MEAT!

The new song, titled Marigold Moon, is taken from the London-based trio’s upcoming debut full-length album, People Are The Worst, which is scheduled to be released in January next year, via Jerk Store Records.

Speaking about the new song, the band tells us, “when Matty Moon was mixing this he referred to it as Doom WEEZER. I think that puts it succinctly. Non-succinctly I wanted to write The Day The World Went Away by NINE INCH NAILS. I was reading White Noise by Don DeLillo so lots of the lyrics are inspired by that. The line ‘I can taste the bleach on your breath’ is about that scene in Mad Men where Don Draper comes home and washing his mouth out with Bleach to cover up the taste of the woman he’s been out with.”
